A battery powered motor, with a gear train to lower the RPM, driving a pivoting bar. Powered by a single D size battery. Oscillating speed is approximately one swing every 2 seconds (final gear rotation approximately 60 RPM). Speed can be varied by using different voltages. This is the perfect device to use on model train railroads! It's easy to animate devices by mounting this unit underneath your layout. Check out our video link below, showing this device powering a Lionel Gateman. It only took us about 20 minutes to rig this up. Can also be used as a generator, to demonstrate electricity generation.
