Wedgwood 19thC Dark Blue Dip Etruscan Laurel Leaf 3 ¼” Jug Repaired Handle. (Markings: Impressed Wedgwood – sans serif Unknown Word. There are two scenes on this jug 2) 2- Group with Cage. Condition: Old staple repair reattaching handle. 1” crack inside near handle. 1) 1- Aesculapius Treating a Youth. Wedgwood Blue Dip Etruscan Laurel Leaf 3 ¼” Jug Repaired Handle Dimensions: 3 ¼” Tall 3 ¾” Wide including Handle Condition: Old staple repair reattaching handle. 1” crack inside near handle. Markings: Impressed Wedgwood – sans serif Unknown Word S 4X This charming little creamer apparently was much loved early on in its life as someone went through the effort to repair it with staples. Using staples for repair was common in the 19thC prior to the development of ceramic glues and polymers. There are two scenes on this jug: 1) 1- Aesculapius Treating a Youth 2) 2- Group with Cage The “S” mark infers either 1864 or 1890. Your seller is at a loss to give a firm date.
