I used it for loosening up the dirt on car upholstery, then used a foam-spray upholstery cleaner to really finish the job. This steamer was easy to use, not to heavy, and did loosen up the embedded dirt in the fabric upholstery. The steam was hot, but not dangerously scalding hot. Next, I plan to use this steam machine on my fabric sofa. I'd recommend this steamer to others.
