Vintage Johnson Bros Old Granite FRUIT SAMPLER VEGETABLE BOWL & 4 BREAD PLATES. Johnson Brothers Pottery was an English maker of fine tableware. The Old Fruit Sampler pattern features earthenware pottery with a wide decorative rim of brown foliage motifs and a stylized multicolored apple with leaves in the plate center. Offering for sale, a mixed set of 4 vintage Johnson Brothers Pottery Staffordshire Old Granite Bread & Butter/Appetizer Plates and a Peach design Vegetable Serving Bowl in the Old Fruit Sampler pattern. Johnson Brothers Pottery was an English maker of fine tableware. The Old Fruit Sampler pattern features earthenware pottery with a wide decorative rim of brown foliage motifs and a stylized multicolored apple with leaves in the plate center. The Wedgewood Group purchased the Johnson Brothers Pottery business in 1968. The Old Fruit Sample pattern was introduced in 1974 and was discontinued in 1982. The Johnson Brothers brand was discontinued in 2015. The Vegetable Serving Bowl is 8-1/2” diameter and is 2-3/4” tall. Each Appetizer/Bread & Butter plate is 6-3/8” diameter. The set of the vegetable bowl and 4 bread and butter plates weighs 2 lbs 9.6 ounces. This vintage mixed set of a vegetable serving bowl and 4 appetizer/bread & butter plates is used, in good vintage condition. The bowl has some utensil marks. The bowl has no nicks, chips, cracks, or staining observed. The appetizer/bread & butter plates have utensil marks and small “divets”. The plates are not nicked, chipped or cracked. Colors are vivid.
