(The "Ring of Fire" in milk glass is an identification technique for authentic, pre-1960s pieces, which display a fiery, iridescent halo of orange, red, blue, or green when held up to natural sunlight. Caused by unique iridized salts used in older manufacturing, this glow appears on the thin edges, rims, or handles, separating them from post-1960s, more opaque, and non-glowing pieces.)
