Condition Uncleaned and as found. The badge shows age-related wear consistent with use and age. The original pin fitting is present and intact. Overall presentable for a scarce early BBC badge. Description Origin al BBC Radio Circle members pin badge associated with the BBC 5IT Birmingham relay station, dating to the early broadcasting period of approximately 1922–1927. These badges were issued to members of the Radio Circle club during the formative years of BBC radio, making them an early and increasingly scarce piece of British broadcasting history. The badge features the distinctive circular design associated with the Radio Circle organisation rather than later BBC corporate insignia. The badge has not been cleaned or restored and retains its original surface and patina. Age-related wear is present but does not detract from its display appeal. Surviving examples of early BBC Radio Circle badges are far less common than later BBC pins, particularly those linked to specific relay stations such as 5IT Birmingham. An excellent piece for collectors of early radio, BBC history, broadcasting memorabilia, or interwar British collectables.
