This auction is for an EXTREMELY RARE Pair of Antique Brass Victorian Circa 1840's Dietz Brother & Co New York Whale Oil SOLAR Lamp Fonts and Wall Sconces. They measure about 6" high by 7-1/2" from the wall with 6-3/16" inside diameter shade holders that are in very good condition as shown in the photos. I am not sure if the wall sconces are original to the fonts, but they came with them from an old southern estate and fit the fonts pretty well. The shade holders are fancy cast brass with 6 whale oil wick burner tubes coming out of the center as part of the whole assembly. There is a slight ding in the side of one font and a small brass crack near the middle seam of the other and 2 burner caps are missing on one font. I have not seen these before and doubt I ever will again so don't let these go bye, without giving them some thought.
