This 1989 silkscreen serigraph print signed and numbered by Peter Lynn, is titled "Marketplace." This print is framed and measures 32"x26." Note that there is minor water damage at the bottom of paper, as seen in the photos. Living in such diverse places as the Lower East Side and SOHO in Manhattan NYC, the Caribbean FWI, and finally in Santa Fe, NM, Peter Lynn has been inspired by local culture, architecture and landscape. He began to incorporate these subjects into his art, while still maintaining his distinctive technique and abstract view. Lynn's technique is to first apply layers of color (underpainting) and then cover the entire surface with thin, vertical, hand-painted lines of varying opacity. The resulting image is one of unique interplay between color, light and texture. Using architecture and landscape as a design format, the underpainting becomes more involved with the introduction of highlight and shadow, gradients and variation of color. This underpainting technique shows a more traditional view of the subject, but with a definitely non-traditional color rendering. Lynn's works are included in many private, corporate and public collections. He has been represented in art galleries throughout the United States, the West Indies, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Canada and Europe. In 2020, three of his paintings were added to the collection of a premier Caribbean island hotel. Peter Lynn has also received the Award of Excellence.
