Antique Majolica Stork pipe Holder Ashtray valet signed figural Art Pottery EXL. From my Mother’s estate, This is an absolutely beautiful piece of majolica art pottery. Featuring two storks. The glaze on this piece is absolutely beautiful. The dominant color is almost obsidian black. Under certain lighting it appears like a dark eggplant. There are blue swirls and soft Browns. The storks themselves have a pink crest on the top of their heads. This has been stored in a China cabinet for many years. My mother traveled a great deal. I do believe this is from Japan. It does have a makers artisan mark on the bottom. There is a skip in the glaze in between the storks and the rocky formation. There is a glaze pop on the side, but there are no chips or cracks, and there is no age crazing. This has a high gloss finish. Please disregard the glare. I am happy to take more pictures of anything that you need. This item measures 6 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and three and three-quarter inches in depth . My items come from a clean, pet and smoke free home. This will be carefully packaged and insured.
