You are looking at a beautiful, vintage, real fur bedspread- handmade to fit a double/queen size bed. I am unsure what kind of fur that this is- it is vintage, likely from the 1980s-1990s, and was cold-stored much of its life. Possibly muskrat? but I am unsure- see the photos to determine the construction. This blanket has ~10 inch squares of fur material, sown with opposing patterns to make the rectangle 52" x 68" of fur. The felt backing extends another 16" to each side, making the blanket wider. This makes it fit just about perfectly on a standard 3 person sofa couch- with the felt backing extending over the armrests. Luxurious, plush feel. Whatever kind of fur that this is- it has sturdy leather with it- so I think it can stand up to sofa/ or even throw rug use if you choose!
