Description

Portsmouth Merchant’s Row Overlooking New Hampshire's Piscataqua River in 1828 Numbered: 188/750 Merchant’s Row, to the left, is the rear of a long hillside building which has stores on the third floor at street level at the front. Ladd’s Wharf was prominent as the center of ocean-going commerce up until the 1830’s when the fishing industry took over that section of the harbour. Colorful lateen-rigged barges called “gundalows” plied the hinterland of the Piscataqua and its tributaries picking up cargoes such as marsh hay, cordwood and bricks for coastwise shipment.

  1. He shipped it immediately and packaged it very well very happy. It’s exactly what I wanted.
