Highlights Handpicked by NostalgicAndNew Vintage from the 19th century This is a lovely compote from Gillinder & Sons. Though reproductions were made of many of the Gillinder "Lion" pieces, the covered compote with the Lion & Stump was never reproduced. So this piece is from the original production from 1877. The bowl is in good antique condition - there are some slight signs of wear from the 100+ years it has been around, but surprisingly very little evidence of use. It stands 7 1/8" tall and is 8 1/8" across. Even if you don't have the cover to complete the piece, it makes an excellent showpiece on its own, or a fruit bowl or centerpiece on a table. It does react to a UV light as seen in the pictures. The Gillinder Lions are a beautiful example of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG). Condition: Very good vintage condition No chips or cracks observed Light surface wear consistent with age
