Antique engraved illustration titled “Battle of Monmouth.” Removed from the 1859 book Camp-Fires of the Revolutionby Henry C. Watson, published by S. Clough & Co., Providence. The engraving depicts the Battle of Monmouth (1778), a major engagement of the American Revolutionary War in New Jersey. The scene is often associated with the famous story of Molly Pitcher assisting American artillery during the battle. Original mid-19th century engraving printed on period book paper.
