1800s European Grain Sack Vintage Linen Rustic Farmhouse Decor French Country E. This lovely textile has been freshly laundered and is ready to use! I have many in my collection and I'm selling them individually ~ This is a gorgeous antique European grain sack dating from the 19th century. Some in my collection date to the late 1700s and early 1800s, each one carrying that wonderful rustic charm that only true historical textiles have~ These sacks were hand woven in natural fibers such as linen, cotton, wool and sometimes all 3 . They often have a beautiful hand stitched seam running the length, and many carry old stamped markings that once identified the rightful owner so the sack could be returned after milling~ These textiles are some of the most joyful to use in the home! I love stuffing them with a king-size pillow to make a wonderful bolster~ they add such authentic European country charm. They can also be opened along one side and across the bottom fold to create one large piece of fabric for upholstery, pillows, runners, napkins, clothing~ the uses are endless! Each sack has its own personality, and the inside can be a fun surprise when opened~ Ideal for pillows, upholstery and many many other projects ~ they even look wonderful just placed at the bottom of a bed ~ MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approximately 40 inches long by 21 inches wide ~ ( but of course, it's a sack so there are 2 sides measuring this, so you can double that length for the amount of fabric it will yield! CONDITION: This lovely textile has been freshly laundered and is ready to use! This sack has many signs of time and use. These sacks in particular were the work horses of their day. Patches, mends , darns, holes , marks and wear are seen on almost every one ~please use the zoom feature to view the exact condition!~.
